Puppetry Training

LAT aims to be the centre of professional puppetry training in the UK, playing a vital role in supporting the rare art form of puppetry.  We regularly run professional training courses in both puppetry making and performance skills. Please watch this space or sign up to our mailing list for updates on training courses.

Professional Development Courses

We run an ongoing programme of workshops and events for professional development, please go to the professional development section of our website for a full listing of what is currently on offer.

Bookings for our professional development opportunities cannot be made online. To secure a place, call our box office on 020 7226 1787 or come to the theatre to book in person – the box office is normally open from 10am – 5pm daily.

Other Professional Opportunities

Our HATCH festival is an annual event showcasing work in progress performances from companies and artists developing new puppetry work.  If you are interested in being part of this festival, which next runs in September 2014, please contact lynette@littleangeltheatre.com

Little Angel Theatre and the BA Theatre Practice (Puppetry) at the Central School of Speech and Drama provide Research and Development space and support for new work from developing or experienced practitioners. Invited artists can explore the parameters and possibilities of new work without the pressure of a final performance, using facilities, resources and expertise at each venue. Artists are invited to spend up to a week at LAT during the summer exploring and playing. Applications are now open for 2014 – please contact lynette@littleangeltheatre.com

Little Angel FIRSTS Festival – www.littleangelfirsts.com
In March 2013 we took the next step in this journey by launching a festival to help companies premiere new, audience-ready puppetry productions which they then intend to tour. See the FIRSTS website for further information.

Associate Artists Scheme
Each year Little Angel offers the opportunity for a company or an individual artist to be an Associate resident at the Theatre. Applications are now closed for the Associate Artist 2014.

Please note that if you are interested in puppetry courses just for fun, we run various adult evening classes.
