Adult Puppetry Courses
Each term Little Angel has a range of puppetry courses designed for adults.
These take place on a Tuesday and Wednesday night, and are split into three
areas of working; beginners puppetry, making puppets and performing with
puppets.
Adult Beginners Course - SOLD OUT
This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in
learning basic puppetry skills. Designed for absolute beginners, it is
open to all those who have always wanted to have a go at puppetry but never had
the opportunity to do so. Working with a professional puppeteer, you will
explore a variety of different puppet forms and learn the basics of puppet
manipulation. This term also features guest tutors who will give a
beginners guide to their specialist puppetry skills. There will also be a
simple puppet making opportunity. This course includes the opportunity to
see Going on a Bear Hunt on Saturday 8th
June at 3.30pm followed by a post-show chat with the puppeteers and backstage
tour of the theatre.

Making Puppets from found Objects
This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in
developing puppet making skills and want to make a puppet. Designed
for people who have attended Beginners Class or who have some basic knowledge
of puppets. You will work with professional
puppeteer and puppet maker Oliver Smart (www.foldedfeather.com)
to experiment with creating
puppets from found objects. They will work with you
to make your own puppets and teach you a range of joining and jointing
techniques as well as methods for adding rods and handles to produce the desired
movement and character. This course includes
the opportunity to see Going on a Bear
Hunt on Saturday 8th June at 3.30pm followed by a post-show chat
with the puppeteers and backstage tour of the theatre.

Adult Puppet Performers
Course
Short String Marionettes
This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in
developing puppetry performance skills. Designed for people who have
attended Beginners Club or who have some basic prior experience in performing
with puppets. This term participants will learn the art of performing with short
string marionettes. The course will be
lead by Roger Lade, who has worked as a puppeteer with Little Angel Theatre on
many of our productions including Sleeping
Beauty, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Angelo and Cindermouse. Participants will not only learn new
skills but will also be supported in creating a simple scratch performance using
the techniques learnt at the end of term.
