Teacher training

We offer puppetry training for anyone who works with children. We will give you puppet-making ideas and practical tips to teach children to puppeteer through simple games and activities. Additionally, everyone who attends the session will receive a small resource pack to take away.

NEW Workshop: Using Shadow Puppetry to Teach Light and Shadows

The beautiful art-form of shadow puppetry is the perfect vehicle for learning about shadow and light creatively, practically and absorbingly. This two-hour practical session is targeted at teachers and educators but is open to anyone who is interested in learning how to make shadow puppets suitable for making with children and exploring what you can do with them.

We can deliver training in your school to explore ways of using puppetry in your classrooms. We offer whole day, half day or evening slots and can design a session to suit your needs.

Puppets for EYFS and KS1

This session will teach you a range of simple but impressive puppet makes for younger children. The puppets can be adapted for different characters, such as animals.

Shadow Puppets

Learn the different techniques for making shadow puppets and explore how to use them with your pupils. Shadow puppets can be used for storytelling as well as learning about shadow and light.

Table Top Puppets

Learn how to make a person puppet that can be linked to story characters or history topics. 

Your staff will leave the session with example puppets they have made and lots of ideas for teaching the children you work with.

Cost: Costs are based on groups of up to 20 adults (we can work with more but this will affect the cost).

Two hour session: £250+VAT

Half day session (up to 4 hours): £325+VAT

Whole day session (up to 7 hours): £425+VAT
