The world is a very big place, especially for a tiny baby penguin who is just finding her feet. The shimmering stars and glistening snow spin around our little hero, while the mountains tower high and the wind rushes to and fro. And although baby penguin may be small her family know she’s the biggest thing of all.

This early years favourite is a lovely and touching story about a parent and their love for their child by much loved children’s author Emma Dodd.

Age guidance

Me… is aimed at ages 2-5. Our shows for this age group are lively but gentle, with simple stories and appealing characters. Small children are kept engaged with visual wonders and effective use of music and language.

How will we be seated?

This show has standard theatre seating – rows of benches facing the stage. There will be up to 90 people watching the show (sometimes more if you come when there are school groups).

Can children join in?

This isn’t an interactive show, but we welcome vocal responses from young audiences. The audience stay in their seats while watching the show, but you can leave and re-enter the auditorium at any time.

Is there anything that might be scary?

This is a very gentle show and nothing is likely to be scary. The baby penguin is briefly lost in a snowstorm, but it is only a moment before she finds her mother.

Should I bring a child under two?

All ages are welcome at our shows and age ranges can only be a rough guide, but please bear in mind that Me… was not specially designed for babies and toddlers. A show recommended from under age two would usually have more relaxed seating, smaller audience numbers and strong sensory and interactive elements.

What can I use to prepare my child or help to decide if the show is right for them?

The show is based on the book Me… by Emma Dodd. You can buy the book from us here

Magic.  Pure innocent, delightful puppet magic.  A wonderful family outing.

Little Angel Theatre is a magical place. They have brought many of my books to life on stage, and they do so creatively whilst remaining faithful to the books. It is wonderful to see so many children enjoying this special THEATRE.
