20 – 21 August 2022

10 – 5 pm

There is more to shadows than shadow puppets. Explore the world of shadows through a variety of different techniques and media, using overhead projectors, L.E.Ds and special shadow lights. A rare opportunity to work with this master shadow maker.

Over the weekend you will discover the magic of shadows, get to use the equipment and create a performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Steve Tiplady who has been at the forefront of the medium for 30 years and created many shadow performances,  most recently Svartstrålle in Oslo this Spring.

As a director, he has created over 60 puppet shows including the Mouse Queen, which played at the New Victories in New York and Journey Home which toured China, both for the Little Angel Theatre. As a puppet director, he has worked many times at the Royal Shakespeare Company (including Venus and Adonis), also at Royal National Theatre, National Theatre of Wales, National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Opera House, Complicité and Shakespeare’s Globe.
