Using Shadow Puppetry to Teach Light and Shadows

This event has passed.

Wednesday 9th November, 4:30pm

The beautiful art-form of shadow puppetry is the perfect vehicle for learning about shadow and light in a creative, practical and absorbing way.

We will teach you techniques for making a variety of shadow puppets that demonstrate scientific principles and help children to understand how shadows are created and how light and shadow is affected by different materials.  This two hour practical session is targeted at teachers and educators but is open to anyone who is interested in learning how to make shadow puppets suitable for making with children and exploring what you can do with them.
