Shoe Baby is a magical puppet show! A fantastical sing-a-long adventure with a baby who takes to the sea, the air, the zoo all in a shoe! Come and spot an octopus, some greedy giraffes and a pink cockatoo!
Shoe Baby is adapted from the book written by well known author, Joyce Dunbar, published by Walker books. The music is written by talented musician, Tom Gray of the award winning band Gomez.
Age Guidance
Shoe Baby is aimed at ages 2-5. Our shows for this age group are lively but gentle, with simple stories and appealing characters. Small children are kept engaged with visual wonders and effective use of music and language.
This show has standard theatre seating – rows of benches facing the stage. There will be up to 90 people watching the show.
This isn’t an interactive style of show, but we welcome vocal responses from young audiences. The audience stay in their seats while watching, but you can leave and re-enter the auditorium at any time. There is a chance to meet the puppets after the show.
There are some giants at the end of the show which are quite large puppets, but these and all the other characters are very friendly.
All ages are welcome at our shows and age ranges can only be a rough guide, but please bear in mind that Shoe Baby was not specially designed for babies and toddlers. A show recommended from under age two would usually have more relaxed seating, smaller audience numbers, and strong sensory and interactive elements.
