It’s competition time!

Calling all budding young authors…

We’re inviting you to take part in a poetic challenge inspired by Overheard in a Tower Block by Joseph Coelho!

The Challenge:

Wherever you live – be it a tower block, terrace, or somewhere in between – stop, look, and listen…

🔍 What stands out to you?

Pick three details about the place you live and turn each one into a simile.
Then, weave them together into a short poem that captures the spirit of your space.

The Prize

One lucky winner will receive:

🎟️ 4 tickets to see the show at Little Angel Theatre between 18th – 27th July

How to Enter

Send your poem to marketing@littleangeltheatre.com with your name age and preferred date to see the show (between 18th – 27th July 2025).

🕛 Entries close at midnight on Sunday 6th July
📣 The winner will be contacted via email on Tuesday 8th July

📜 Terms & Conditions

  • Eligibility – The competition is open to children and young people aged 7 – 15. Entrants must be UK residents.
  • How to Enter – Entries must be submitted via email to marketing@littleangeltheatre.com by midnight on Sunday 6th July 2025. Please include your name and age with your submission.
  • Entry Format –  Each entry must be an original short poem containing three similes based on the entrant’s local environment. Poems must be written in English.
  • One Entry Per Person – Only one entry per participant is allowed.
  • Winner Selection – A winner will be chosen by a panel of judges based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme. The winner will be notified by email on Tuesday 8th July 2025.
  • Prize – The winner will receive a signed copy of Overheard in a Tower Block by Joseph Coelho and four (4) tickets to see the stage adaptation at Little Angel Theatre between 18th – 27th July 2025. No cash alternative will be offered.
  • Tickets – Theatre tickets are subject to availability. The winner must confirm their preferred date by Friday 11th July 2025.
  • Copyright – By entering, participants give permission for Little Angel Theatre to share and publish submitted poems (with credit) on their website and social media.
  • Data Privacy – Personal details submitted will only be used for the purposes of administering the competition and contacting the winner, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
