As grown ups we learn to hate the thought of mess - but there’s a lot of fun and learning to be enjoyed when we allow our children and ourselves to get messy. By exploring the world through our hands and our senses we make sense of the world and discover our place within it. Messy sensory play is beneficial for children’s physical and language development, cognitive skills, social and emotional skills, creative skills and sensory input. It’s also great fun!
Have you ever wondered what happens on Christmas Eve, when everyone is fast asleep and the snow has settled? Tinsel sparkles, carrots are nibbled and presents appear under the tree! Jolly presents jump for joy, cheeky presents chuckle and cheer, and smelly presents smile at their scents.
Family Workshops - Ice, Spice and All Things Nice!
Have some fliptastic fun whilst making a gift for someone else this Christmas, with our fantastic flip box puppets. These colourful creations are a great way to say thank you to someone you love, make a friend smile, or treat your postman to a magical surprise! With up to 4 different faces, these puppets are designed to show a range of emotions, so we’ll be exploring how we feel about winter.
Children will fall in love with the world of reading with this fun puppet-making workshop inspired by Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book. Make your own moving-mouth book puppet that can become your child’s own literary critic! The perfect reading companion, children will discover their talking book’s character, and use it to express which books they love best.
Want to find a way to give thanks this New Year? Drop your little ones off at Little Angel Studios this January, and we’ll do lots of creative crafting to show you how grateful we are. This full day workshop will focus on gratitude and mindfulness through making to ensure we start the new year the right way, whilst learning some puppetry skills along the way. An exciting and educational day full of New Year’s resolutions your little ones won’t want to break!
Be Brave - being brave isn’t about being a superhero, but sometimes we all need to be a little bit brave. Join us for this workshop where we will make a flying dragon puppet that will help us to learn that it’s okay to be scared sometimes.
Watch as the light transforms your craft into a colourful scenic stage; the perfect spot for a curious owl puppet to explore. Enjoy our sensory light box within the workshop, and learn how you can recreate it at home. This workshop is a great opportunity for little ones to practise their fine motor skills, experience the magic of shadow and light, and share their discoveries with you.
