Family Workshops - Be Messy
02 Dec–03 Dec 2023
For ages 2 - 5
Duration: Approx. 1 hour
Be Messy – learn the art of embracing getting your hands messy.
As grown ups we learn to hate the thought of mess – but there’s a lot of fun and learning to be enjoyed when we allow our children and ourselves to get messy. By exploring the world through our hands and our senses we make sense of the world and discover our place within it. Messy sensory play is beneficial for children’s physical and language development, cognitive skills, social and emotional skills, creative skills and sensory input. It’s also great fun!
Children and adults alike have the ability to feel and express a huge range of ideas and emotions. This fun series of craft workshops are designed for both children and their grownups to take part together and will help participants to have the tools to name, express and navigate our emotions! Each session will have a different focus that children and grown ups explore together and create a craft to take home. It’s more important than ever to look after our wellbeing – no matter what age we are. These sessions are a great way for children and their adults to bond and connect, and learn new ways of exploring, identifying and coping with emotions.
This activity is designed for children aged 2 – 5 together with their parents or carers. Children need to be accompanied by adults for this workshop and must not be left unattended. Each adult and child needs their own ticket.
Workshops are held at our Studios building on Sebbon Street, not at our Theatre building.
