Most Beds are Beds for sleeping and resting, but the best beds are much more interesting!

Curl up and get comfy for a bedtime story like no other. Let us take you on a journey sprinkled with fantasy and escapism, where you will meet elephants, macaws and parakeets. Venture underwater, to the North Pole and even outer space without ever leaving the comfort of your own bed. Beds come in all shapes and sizes, from cots to king-sized, and some you might never have heard of before – see if you can discover them all along the way.

This enchanting poem by Sylvia Plath, written for her own children, is brought to life in a special show for babies and toddlers.

There are separate performance times for babies (6-18 months) and toddlers (18 months – 3 years). Click here. for the baby performances.

Make your own Treasure Basket

Treasure baskets form the core of our stay and play session at the end of our production The Bed. Here’s a look at our Artistic Director, Samantha Lane, explaining the concept of Treasure Baskets, first pioneered and developed by Elinor Goldschmied who believed objects are a gateway to the outside world.

Age guidance

The Bed (performance for toddlers) is aimed at children aged 18 months to 3 years. The show itself is the same for baby and toddler performances, and age groupings are relaxed, but toddlers may enjoy the show best together with children around their own age who are interacting in similar ways.
